AKVIS Enhancer v.9.5: Improve Detail on Digital Images! Now with Exif Data Support

September 4, 2008 — AKVIS Software Inc announces the release of AKVIS Enhancer v.9.5 for Windows and Macintosh. The program allows improving detail on an image, no matter what was the cause of the unsharpness - poor/excessive lighting, motion or bad focusing. The standalone version supports HDRI technology. The new release supports Exif data (the data registered by the camera when shooting, e.g. the date, the settings, etc). The new version ensures that these data won’t get lost after the processing.

AKVIS Enhancer is image enhancement software that helps you improve detail on photos no matter what was the cause of the problem: poor/excessive lighting, motion or bad focusing.

The software offers three modes that can treat each problem separately:

In Enhancer mode the program brings out details on one single shot by intensifying color transition. The tool is useful in cases when a photo has an uneven exposure. For example, when a picture has been taken against the light source and consequently the objects on the foreground are hardly discernible, which is especially annoying when you take a picture of a person. Or when a photo lacks dramatic effect due to vagueness of the scene.

The Focus mode improves blurred images by bringing into focus the whole image or only certain parts of it. It happens wgeb the camera fails to focus on the object being shot, and the photo comes out fuzzy. This mode can rescue such out-of-focus images. The mode offers several presets that are recommended for the first acquaintance with the program. Read the hints to the parameters to understand how it works and create your own presets if needed.

The HDR mode is only available in the Standalone version of Enhancer. The HDRI (High Dynamic Range Imaging) technology expands the dynamic range of an image and shows details in both shadows and highlights. Note that you will need several shots of the same scene to generate one HDR-image. But the result is impressive.

Version 9.5 supports the Exif data to the full extent and ensures that the additional camera information (shooting date, exposure settings, comments, etc) will not get lost or altered.

The program is available in two versions - as a standalone application and as a plug-in to a photo editor.

The plug-in version of Enhancer has only Enhancer and Focus modes. It supports Photoshop batch processing that allows applying the same settings to a series of images. The plug-in version is compatible with Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo, Photo-Paint, PhotoImpact, etc.

For a free trial, AKVIS offers 10 days of fully functional use. Details are available at Program page.

Upgrades for registered users are available, without charge. Users who tried the previous version of the software and have their version expired, now have an opportunity to test the software again.

AKVIS Enhancer runs on Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista and on Macintosh Mac OS X 10.3.9-10.5.

AKVIS Enhancer Plugin sells for $69 USD. Enhancer Standalone with HDRI support sells for $81. The program also comes bundled with AKVIS Noise Buster (noise reduction software) with a discount of $35 USD.

Home users can enjoy the full line of AKVIS plugins in the AKVIS Alchemy bundle (Enhancer, Chameleon, Stamp, Retoucher, Coloriage, Noise Buster, Decorator, Sketch, LightShop, SmartMask and ArtSuite) for $325 USD, a savings of $513 over purchasing each separately. For business licenses, consult the official web-site. One license key allows activating the software on two computers!
