AKVIS Noise Buster V.6.1: Noise Suppression for Digital and Scanned Images

August 11, 2008 — AKVIS Software Inc. presents version 6.1 of AKVIS Noise Buster for Windows and Macintosh with an improved algorithm of noise suppression. The version fixes some bugs, improves compatibility with Vista SP1. A new interface language has been added (Italian). Registered users can upgrade the software for free.

Whether you get digital images using a digital camera or a scanner, you may often notice the so-called “noise”. It can be seen as grains that compromise the smoothness of the photo or random red and blue pixels spoiling the color accuracy of the snap-shot. Such images can be improved with noise removal software. The idea is to reach balance between removing noise and keeping fine details on a picture.

AKVIS Noise Buster reduces both luminance and color noise on digital images without blurring the edges of objects. Your photos stay sharp and crisp, while the unwanted artefacts disappear.

The automatic noise filtering usually gives a good result and saves you time. When it is selected, the program analyses the image and picks up the best settings on its own. If you are not quite satisfied with the result, you can tweak the parameters a bit observing the changes in real time in the preview window.

A histogram displaying noise level and noise components (color and luminance noise) of the loaded image helps you to decide what parameters should be tuned up. Separate setting areas for luminance and color noise allow you to deal with each kind of noise in the most efficient way.

The program tips help you to achieve the best result. Hovering your mouse over a parameter makes the application display a hint about this setting.

Version 6.1 of AKVIS Noise Buster fixes the bug that made the program freeze in case of incorrect records in the System Registry. The version improves compatibility with Vista SP1. A new interface language has been added - Italian. Registered users can upgrade the software for free.
